NJVRC & CASAA New Jersey Call to Action Published on 16-Jun-2018 by My Vaping Place

Description

We are facing two EXTREME threats next week.

Assembly bill A-4132 and Senate bill S-2731 will establish debilitating taxation on the vaping industry.

These bills will most likely be heard in committee “S” on Monday.

I ask you all to make TWO phone calls this weekend, and I ask you to encourage all of your friends & family members to make the same two phone calls.

Have your family make calls at your Father’s Day BBQ.

The calls to make are to:

1) Senate Budget Committee Chairman & Deputy Majority Leader, Paul Sarlo, (D) Legislative District 36:

(201) 804-8118

And

2) Assembly Budget Committee Chairwoman Eliana Pintor-Marin, (D) Legislative District 29:

(973) 589-0713

Here is the message to leave:

“I want to bring to the:

  • Senator’s attention that Senate Bill S-2731
  •  Assembly Woman’s attention that Assembly Bill A-4132

Would create immediate, devastating, long-lasting, and yes, possibly even irreparable damage to the e-cigarette industry in NJ.

These bills, if passed, are guaranteed to result in:

  1. The closure of hundreds of small businesses across the State of NJ
  1. The elimination of thousands of jobs across the state with a resultant increase in the States unemployment figures and even more of a burden on the already overtaxed State Unemployment Insurance Fund
  1. Loss of revenue to the State in the form of sales taxes from the businesses that would close and Loss of the Income Tax revenue from all the unemployed persons they would create

The only surviving vaping products left on the market in NJ will be those products backed by Big Tobacco and these bills will only do two things:

  1. Line the pockets of Big Tobacco CEOs and
  2. Put middle-class New Jerseyans out of work.

Additionally, a significant health crisis will result as people struggling to quit smoking will see a better smoke-free alternative wiped off the market.

Therefore, I URGE THE CHAIRMAN / CHAIRWOMAN, TO PLEASE, NOT CONSIDER THIS LEGISLATION.

THANK YOU!”
